Kärnten Bus GmbH is an unrivalled syndicate in Austria consisting of 9 private Carinthian coach companies, which collectively took over 24 former Postbus lines in the course of the Postbus partial privatisation in 2005, with the objective of continuing to ensure ideal public transportation in the rural area of Carinthia.
Together with the 24 lines, 17 Postbus employees as well as 17 coaches, which meanwhile have been replaced by the latest and environmentally-friendly coaches, were taken over.
Maurer Company, which operated the line Moosburg – Pörtschach, was also taken over in 2009. With 25 coaches, Kärnten Bus covers a distance of approx. 1.0 million km per year and at the same time, transports nearly 4 million passengers.
After a long time of planning, the line operation Klagenfurt-Ljubljana was able to start running under the trade name AlpeAdria Line at the end of March 2014.
In a partnership with the operating companies Ebner Reisen GmbH and Busreisen Juwan GmbH and the aid of the Carinthian government, this route is run 4x daily.
Kärnten Bus GmbH works in close collaboration with all public transport companies, municipalities and the state of Carinthia.
Mag. Martin Bacher and Mirko Zeichen-Picej act as the managing directors of the Kärnten Bus GmbH.
