How many routes run daily?
From Monday till Saturday 3 routes every day and on Sundays 1 route from Klagenfurt to Ljubljana und back.
Are the busse driving on public holidays?
Yes, they are driving on workdays and holidays at the same time.
Who operates this line?
This transport service is operated by Reisebüro-Busreisen Juwan GmbH.
Do I have to take my passport or ID card with me?
Travel documents must be taken in cross-border traffic. Your passport or ID card is considered as travel documents, but NOT your driving license.
Are additional coaches used if a route is fully booked?
In the event that individual routes are full to capacity early on, an additional vehicle will be used as required and as far as possible. You will be informed separately of additional capacities up to 6 hours prior to departure via email.
How much luggage can I take with me?
Generally, each passenger is permitted to take two pieces of luggage along. (Dimensions of the luggage: max. 85 x 65 x 45 cm and max.25kg). For each piece of luggage beginning at the third piece we offset an additional charge of € 2,-. Hand luggage, which can be stored in the luggage net in the passenger area, is transported free of charge.
At which stops can I get off the coach?
Law on concessions only permits transnational transport. For this reason, only transport from Austria to Slovenia and back can take place but not within Austria or Slovenia (e.g. Klagenfurt airport–Kirschentheuer or Kranj–Ljubljana bus terminal– NOT POSSIBLE!)
What happens if there are hindrances due to weather or road conditions?
In the event of scheduled or announced hindrances, you will be informed at least 6 hours prior to your departure.
In the event of hindrances on short notice, transport will be carried out using an alternative route. However, the regular arrival times can then no longer be guaranteed.
Am I permitted to take a pet on the coach?
The transportation of animals, bicycles or fitments is not permitted in transnational public transportation vehicles. Of course guide dogs and companion dogs which accompany handicapped persons, as well as small pets up to a maximum of 5 kg (these have to reside within a suitable transport box or travel bag) are excepted from this .
Can the AlpeAdria Line be used as a parcel service?
No, currently it cannot.
Can unscheduled journeys be booked?

How long should I be at the bus stop before departure?
It is recommended to be at the bus stop 10 minutes prior to departure.
What happens if I miss the coach? Is it possible to change a reservation?
Should you miss the coach, please contact us. We will try to find a solution.
How old must a child be to travel alone?
Minors under the age of 10 can only be travel in transnational public transportation vehicles if they are accompanied by a person, who is 18 or older.
Children between the age of 10 and 15 may only travel in the coaches without supervision if they have a written confirmation from their legal guardian. We explicitly point out that we do not provide supervision for minors.
Adolescents, who are 15 and older, are permitted to travel alone.
In the case of pupils or journeys as a class, supervision lies within the responsibility of the teaching staff or the chaperones travelling with the class.
Are the coaches wheelchair accessible?
The coaches comply with the latest standards and meet all requirements for wheelchair accessible public-transit coaches. Nevertheless, please contact us (phone or e-mail) if you travel with wheelchair.
Can I take bulky objects (for instance a pram, skiing equipment, golfing equipment…) with me?
Only if there is enough room. We kindly ask you to contact us via phone or email prior to your journey.
Can food or beverages be purchased on the coach?

Do the journeys take place irrespective of how many passengers there are?
Except of the routes which are marked as “RUF”, they are operated only with booking in advance.

What means „RUF“?
The routes in the timetables which are marked as “RUF” are operated only with advance booking with online payment at least 12 hours before departure via www.alpeadrialine.com/ticket.
These routes are separately operated with smaller vehicles, which are out of the regular services and drive only to/from Aerodrom Ljubljana(Airport).
Other bus-stops and routes can be accepted only with contacting in advace via e-mail or phone.
Why do the „RUF“ –routes cost more than the regular routes?
These routes are separately operated with small busses, which are out of the regular services and we have to rent further vehicles.
If you travel in a group of 5 persons and more, please contact us about a reduced price.
Do I get an invoice?
The tickets can be used as an invoice in terms of the Value Added Tax Act. Therefore, they also entitle you to input tax deductions.
How can I get a ticket?
Tickets can be purchased online, at the bus station (avtobusna postaja) Ljubljana (with a seat reservation) or directly in the coach (without the guarantee of a seat).
There is only a guarantee of transportation when purchasing tickets at the bus terminal Ljubljana or when making an online reservation.
The payment for online tickets is possible in the coach or with credit card.
Tickets for the routes marked as "RUF" are available only with online payment.
Are there multiple tickets?
Currently, only single tickets are available.
Can I cancel the ticket I already booked or change the reservation for another travel date?
As a single traveller, you can cancel your ticket till 18:00 on the day before departure for online reservations; group travellers can cancel up to 48 hours before departure.
Single travellers can change reservations up to 6 hours before departure at the latest and groups can change reservations up to 12 hours before departure provided that there are still seats available for the desired route.
When purchasing the ticket at the bus terminal in Ljubljana, the ticket can neither be exchanged or cancelled.
Can I pay in the coach using my cash card or credit card?
Currently, only cash payments are possible. We kindly ask you to keep the money for the ticket ready for quicker processing.
For safety reasons, we do not accept any € 200 or € 500 bills.
How far in advance can I purchase a ticket?
You can purchase a ticket up to 01:15 hours prior to departure at the latest and at the earliest, 3 months prior to departure.
What are the different types of tickets?
One-way tickets and return tickets are available.
Full fare, budget price (approx. 30% discount, for adolescents, youth, senior citizens) or with discounts for children and persons with disability over 70% (50% discount).
Can I take the coach without a tentative reservation?
Only if there are still free seats; no guarantee can be given for transport.
How can I get a guaranteed seat?
A guaranteed seat can only be assured if an online reservation has been made.
Do I have to book a seat for children?
Yes, unless the child does not require its own seat.
When making an online reservation, am I informed that there are no more seats available? What do I do then?
Are there special rates for children?
Children from 0 – 5 can travel free of charge.
For children from 6 -14, there is a discount of 50% on the regular fare.
Are there discounts for adolescents?
The discount price for adolescents according to the price list applies to persons up to the age of 23 - verification with photo ID.
Are there discounts for senior citizens?
The discount price for senior citizens according to the price list applies to persons, who are 63 and older - verification with photo ID.
Are there discounts for disabled persons?
Persons with limited mobility over 70% are entitled to the discount price, which is stated in the price list under “children under 14,99”.
For persons who have entered the"accompanying person" in their handicapped passport as well for persons in a weheelchair an accompanying person or an assistance dog will be transported free of charge.
Nevertheless, please contact us (phone or e-mail) if you travel with wheelchair.
Are group tours possible and are there special rates for those?
In principle, group reservations are possible according to availability. Special rates as of 10 persons must be arranged prior to reservation by phone or via email.
